Kianda is new to the brokerage market and benefits from two extensive refits in the past decade where all major systems were upgraded or replaced. Most recently at Hamble Yacht Service in 2011, some highlights include:

  • New teak deck with flush mounted hatches

  • Complete respray of hull and deck in Awlgrip paint

  • Conversion of aft cabin from twin berths to single centerline double

  • All new deck head lining

  • New Oceanair mosquito screens and blinds

  • Refiting and refurbishment of galley and other interior areas

  • Replacement of freshwater and sanitary piping

  • Complete service of mast and rigging including new rod rigging and painting

  • New carbon fibre park avenue boom

HULL & APPENDAGES

Construction

Hull is in «single skin» hybrid glass/aramid fibre with polyester reinforced laminates

A high proportion of the fibres are unidirectional, giving a stiff laminate with excellent strength and fatigue properties. Structural bulkheads are of plywood laminated to hull and deck with foam strips between. Stiffener flanges are unidirectional lay-ups over foam cores.

Engine bed is GRP with steel reinforcements

General

All joinery work is done in accordance with the best yacht practice, using first-grade materials.

Teak with hand rubbed satin finish is used for all visible woodwork.

All new leather upholstery in 2010

Floorboards with laid teak veneer, providing access to the bilge.

Quick pins provided for lifting the floorboards.

Hanging lockers are equipped with rods and hooks and have bottom drawers where possible, and their doors are provided with louvers for ventilation.

Perkins Sabre M 225 Ti (136 kW / 185 hp at 2500 rpm) 2,900 hours since rebuild in 2005

Rebuilt 2005, when it was removed from the yacht, was fully re-manufactured and dyno-tested before being refitted. When being re-manufactured, all major components were replaced, new pistons, lines, bearings, gaskets, oil seals, valve grinders, rocker shafts etc. as well as the major components being re-machined.
